A Fourth of July tradition since 1985, and this year will be an event like no other... Celebrating 250 years of USA! The Freedom mile is a series of point-to-point, 1 mile races. Beginning at 8 am with a Masters and Grandmasters heat, and then every 20 minutes for a different group of runners.
Packet pick up, race day registration and all finish line festivities are staged on River Road in front of the Old State Capitol, and a limo bus will be bringing runners to the starting line to race the mile back finish. Ice cold watermelon, hot dogs, water, Powerade and beer provided at the finish and of course the singing of the National Anthem.
Proceeds benefit the Baton Rouge Food Bank.
